Sakura
Brief, crowded, worth the planning if that is your feeling. Hold six to twelve months out.

Japan
Kyoto before the buses. Fuji when the lake is still. Tokyo when the rain turns the street into glass. That is the work.
I travel from the United States to photograph and film elopements in Japan: Kyoto, Mt Fuji and Hakone, Tokyo, and Okinawa. I am not a Tokyo planning agency, and I do not keep a four-region staff. I make the stills and the motion. If you need permits, a shrine hour, or someone who can speak for you in Japanese, I can introduce trusted local planners.
Golden Week and Hatsumode fill the famous paths. We pick hours and ground that still have air, or we reserve what needs reserving. About Adam · Korea · Inquire.
Places

Kyoto before the buses. Stone still wet. A path that belongs to you for an hour.

Fuji when the lake is still. Hakone when the cedars hold the steam.

Tokyo when the rain turns the street into glass. Gardens in the middle of the noise.

Warm water, a cliff in late light, and a day that does not hurry.

Open sky, snow, and summer green far from the corridor cities. A longer flight for me, and worth it when you want space.
Seasons

Brief, crowded, worth the planning if that is your feeling. Hold six to twelve months out.

Maple and gold. Another rush window. Temples and lake towns go warm, then empty at dusk.

Clear Fuji days, quiet courtyards, snow in the north. Grain likes this light.

Moss, cedar, humid air, fewer visitors on some paths. A slower Japan.
Sakura and autumn maple are the asked-for weeks, and they book early. Winter often gives the clearest Fuji. Green summer is lush and less crowded on some paths. Tell me the feeling. Season follows.
Plan on six to twelve months for sakura, momiji, and the popular Fuji winter windows. I travel for a limited number of dates each season. If your window is sooner, write anyway.
Often yes. Famous paths, reserved gardens, and many shrines have rules for tripods and commercial photo and film. I do not file those papers. A local planner can. We can also work on ground that is open, at hours that stay kind.
Yes. Still photographs and motion are one offering. I photograph and film the day myself. You do not need a second vendor unless you already have a photographer and only want analog motion.
Yes. Super 8 sits beside still photographs, 16mm, and 4K. Analog is the vibe for both stills and motion. Digital stills are the through line. 35mm stills when the day calls for paper grain too.
All three. Adam Grumbo is a photographer, videographer, and filmmaker. GrumboElope is destination elopement photo and film. Vintage, place-first, analog in the kit.
I photograph and film either. A legal marriage and a symbolic vow are both days worth making. I am not a lawyer and I am not the planner. Confirm with your home records office what they will recognize, then we make the day you actually have.
No. I work in English. If a shrine, hanok, or vendor needs Japanese or Korean, a trusted local planner can carry that so you are not translating your own wedding day.
Both. Digital stills and cinematic 4K are the through line. Super 8 and 16mm are the analog spine for motion. 35mm stills when we want grain on paper. Analog is a craft, not a filter.
Yes. Many couples already have a stills person. I can make analog-only motion: Super 8 and 16mm beside their photographs. I hold the cameras myself. I do not hire out the work to a stranger.
Japan and Korea are the emphasis: Kyoto, Mt Fuji and Hakone, Tokyo, Okinawa, Seoul, Jeju, and Busan. I also take Colorado, and I am opening Ashford in North Carolina and Ireland at the Cliffs of Moher. I travel from Austin and Colorado in the United States.
Rain photographs and films well. Wet stone, umbrellas at a distance, Tokyo or Seoul when the street turns into glass. We plan a covered hour and we stay out in it when the day wants that.
I travel from the United States (Austin and Colorado). I am not based in Kyoto or Seoul, and I do not keep a four-region Japan staff. You handle your flights and rooms unless a planner is already on the job. I invoice travel honestly after we shape the dates.
Inquiry-led and custom. Day count and craft (photography, 4K film, Super 8, 16mm) shape the quote. There is no public price grid and no checkout package. Write first. I reply in English.
